Through the PALM Scheme, we can connect you with low and semi skilled healthcare
and aged care workers from caring, respectful cultures.
Connecting you with workers from the Pacific Islands and Timor-Leste
Through the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme Health+ People connects employers with a pool of health and aged care workers from nine Pacific island nations and Timor-Leste.
This creates opportunities for workers to develop new skills, earn money and support their families – ultimately fostering deeper connections between Australia and its regional neighbours.
The PALM Scheme offers extended work placements of up to four years, and work opportunities in regional, rural and metropolitan areas where care workers are needed most.
This reduces client costs associated with the recruitment, employment and management of new staff. By sourcing PALM workers from a Pacific culture with strong caregiving practices, we ensure that the people in your facility receive the benefit of respectful, ethical and nurturing care.
How the process works
1
Brief and requirements
You request long-term personal carers and/or service (indirect care) workers, stating how many workers are needed, the contract period (2-4 years) and other requirements such as qualifications, experience and desirable worker attributes.
2
Sourcing streams
Health+ People individually matches staff to your needs, drawing from a pool of low – and semi-skilled care staff from nine Pacific island nations and Timor-Leste.
3
Relocation and settlement
Our in-house migration team manages the visa and sponsorship process. We also coordinate candidates’ relocation to and settlement in Australia, including rental agreements, health insurance, banking and house furnishings.
4
Payroll and entitlements
Health+ People directly employs care staff on a full-time basis and takes sole responsibility for the payment of wages, superannuation, payroll, PAYG tax and all other payroll benefits and entitlements.
